Former Player Nails It With Brutal Six-Word Summary

There does seem no hiding place today. The point gained from a lacklustre performance is little comfort to West Ham United fans: Many were thankfully spared the ordeal of watching the whole game in real time and would have had to endure just a few minutes of highlights. Surely the board and Chairman cannot be blind to what is clear: The team is going backwards under Lopetegui.

Former players are of course usually invested in the club’s success having worn the shirt and performed in front of the claret and blue supporters. So when an outspoken critic sums it up so brutally with so few words, that comment deserves to go viral. Former Hammer Don Hutchison played for both sides, Everton from 98-2000 and The Hammers from 1994-’96, so I’d respect his opinion.

He didn’t hold back on his Twitter X account:

“West Ham play pensioner / walking football and Everton players are better than where they are in the Lge table….”

A pretty damning indictment of Lopetegui’s style. As if we couldn’t see it with our own eyes. The only person who seems to have his head buried in the sand is Chairman David Sullivan who will find his denial comes back to haunt the club when a relegation battle ensues after Christmas.  “Pensioner Football“: Suddenly my witty ‘Dad’s Army’ tongue in cheek comments in ‘that’ August article don’t look so funny now.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

massive fan-based protest. non-attendance (he would hate that -$$$$$), signed petition, high-profile fan statements, boycott the store, etc. no effing violence. just a suggestion. i’d sign on-line in a jiff (add international petition 😁)

Not easy to see the future exactly but none of the scenarios I can think of look good. I agree with those that say relegation is unlikely this season. However after a season like this we will see a player exodus and of course the players wanting out will be the ones we’d hate to lose. Next comes the replacements, so what quality young players could West Ham attract next summer? This is where I think relegation becomes more threatening.

Actually what comes next is the Jan transfer window. What decent player in their right mind will join this basket case of a club and work for the poison dwarf and lady Brady? And even if We still had a sniff of a chance of signing Duran which is most unlikely. What will he think of the shenanigans that went on in August. Without a change we’re doomed
If not this year then next

Sullivan needs to sack j-Lo , the players don’t want to play for him . It won’t get better with him there. Pull the trigger before it’s late.

If David Sullivan is the answer then the question must be “why is WHU always getting it wrong”.

However, having made the decision to employ Lopetegui now would be the wrong time to sack him.

Is it David Sullivan or Blind Freddie Sullivan?

    1. It would be easier to claw a limpet off a rock with your fingers than get rid of Sullivan.
    2. Irrespective of the coach there is absolutely no excuse for the lacklustre performance from most of the players.
    3. We will not be in a relegation battle this season…not because we are too good to go down but because currently there are other teams who are worse.
    4. Make Kilman the captain.
5.Summerville should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Sullivan knows exactly whats going on, but history tells us that he will be unwilling to pay any compensation package to get rid of Lopetegui.

  • John Ayris says:

Just look at the comments on C&H, everyone can see that this is a disaster that is going nowhere other than in a downward spiral. Yet it looks like we’ll limp on game to game with nothing improving until the inevitable and he’s eventually sacked. Some things are that plain obvious that you just get on with them surely…

  • Andy⚒ says:

David Sullivan really is the problem in this club.
