A former West Ham academy prospect tipped for the top by his former director Terry Westley, has joined Manchester City.

It is reported that he joined as a free agent from West Ham and then was loaned straight out to on loan to Belgian side Lommel – who are owned by City Group.

Baptiste was described  to Claret and Hugh exclusively as a player who “ticked every box” as an academe protegee by Westley.

However, injuries and according to David Moyes, other issues led the Hammers to allowing him to leave.

Born in 2003, Baptiste is joining Manchester City as a promising young talent. The 20-year-old defender is moving in  for free, and the deal is done. Medical exams and contract signing are happening soon, making this a swift process.

ITK Fabrizio Romano, announcing the news, described it as a done deal and it is in line with City developing a policy of develping young talent. Baptiste is the first step in that direction.
