Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma are on their their way out of West Ham today.
The West Ham official site has just announced the Spaniard’s departure and a Hammers source has revealed to Claret and Hugh that Benrahma will be away to Lyon when the deals are completed later today saying “Both deals will be done.”.
In announcing Fornals’ departure the club statement said that the midfielder has now joined Real Betis on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee although we understand it is close to £8 million
The 27-year-old returns to Spain after four-and-a-half seasons with the Hammers, during which time he made 203 appearances and scored 23 goals.
Meanwhile, the Benrahma deal – which had seemed to carry only a minimal chance of being pushed through – looks certain to be completed.
The Hammers had claimed that the FA computer hit a glitch last night which was why the deal couldn’t be completed but now it seems the Hammers have been given more time to get the deal done.
This is good news for both of them, they have been great for us and wish them well in the future at the right club with the right mgmt they will flourish.
I don’t feel Moyes is the right manager for them, or for us, he has also been brilliant in stabilising the club, like Allardyce was but we are now limited, last night demonstrated it, Bournemouth are not that great despite their run and they comfortably outplayed us. Steidten needs to be tasked with finding a DeZerbi / Postecoglou type manager that can attack and defend while playing beautiful football.
