Fornals confirms Napoli interest

Hammer Pablo Fornals has confirmed that Napoli were interested in signing him but the Serie A who qualified for the Champions League didn’t follow through on their interest.

Speaking to the media post-match at the European U21 Championships after scoring the match-winning goal for Spain Fornals said:  “Napoli were interested, there were contacts, but the Azzurri didn’t decide and I, therefore, had to think about continuing my career looking for new challenges”.

His comments were picked up by TMW microphones and reported by Tutto Mercato Web

Fornals signed for West Ham on a five-year contract with an option for another year for undisclosed transfer fee thought to be £24m from Villareal.

Speaking about last night’s game against Belgium post-match Pablo Fornals said: “It was a difficult game, our opponents made life difficult for us until the end. I think both teams could have won today, luckily it was our turn”
