Fornals determined to show fans his real form

Pablo Fornals is beginning to show form and is determined to continue his progress against Arsenal tomorrow evening (Monday).

Fornals’ arrival was widely acclaimed by pundits in the summer one writing the club had done well to get him at the price ahead of the European championships in which he had been involved.

But Manuel Pellegrini has regularly admitted he needs time to adjust and we are hopefully now starting to see the first signs of that becoming the case.

His assist for the Chelsea goal, general performance and blinding shot, well saved at Wolves, are starting to prove the point and a much needed win over the Gooners  would be the perfect time for his to hit his full stride.

He looks certain to hold his place in a team currently short on creative menace and hopefully we will see him begin to supply some of that much needed quality.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/december/07-december/pablo-fornals-my-sole-focus-showing-my-best-west-ham he said: “My sole focus is on adapting to the Premier League and showing my best for West Ham in this league. Our fans deserve to see the best from me.

“The manager reminds me every single day of the confidence he has in me and that he believes in my ability. He tells me to continue to enjoy my football, be confident to have the ball at my feet and consistently produce good things that will make a difference on the pitch.

“This league is unbelievable, many people say that this is the best league in the world but you don’t truly understand that until you feel and experience it.

“All of the stadiums are full and our fans are incredible and follow us around the country to any place. The intensity and strength of the league is very different to Spain, and I am loving the experience of it.”

“The confidence is good. At Wolves, there were some good moments to the performance. Obviously, we lost which is disappointing but we need to learn from this result and continue working over the next days to improve and get a good result on Monday.

“We believe in what we are trying to do and are capable of getting a result in every match we play. We will compete every day to improve and be a better team.

“It wasn’t the best assist of my career at Chelsea! But I will add it to the list of the good things I have done. All the credit should go to Aaron (Cresswell) really as he scored a great goal to win us the game.”

  1. A respected site like Claret&Hugh has readers with long memories. To keep them balanced reporting is a must. Players are paid huge sums that are equal and sometimes less than their opponents. Fornals gives his best like the manager, honest men who deserve better than up and down daily rollercoaster “journalism”.

    • I’, uncertain why you are making a point when we have attributed the manager’s quotes to the piece about his adjustment whilst explaining that heis starting to show some form. We have criticised previously because at £25m one might have expected more. Hardly roller coaster – merely judgement on performance

    • Football is all about opinions and opinions can change.

      • I understand the price payed for Fornals is based on his potential considering his age. Good clubs such as west ham support their young players with consistent appraisals of their progression, there is enough external criticism. Declan for example.
He has serious talent and is a team player, a combination that is common to all rusted on irons.
