Fornals Factor: We need some magic says boss

Pablo Fornals needs to start providing more moments of magic, according to boss David Moyes.

The Hammers midfielder has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and registering three assists.

He hasn’t actually scored a goal since the win over Liverpool, while his last assist came against Brighton on the opening day of the month.

Moyes admits that the Spain international needs to get back to the level he showed against Liverpool, and believes the club are reliant on him being back in form amid a mixed run of form that has seen the Hammers beat Chelsea but draw with both Brighton and Burnley.

He told reporters ahead of the clash with Arsenal: “A little bit of his form and those things mentioned have played a part in it as well. From that point of view we’re looking for a wee bit of magic formula at the moment to get goals and get the finishing pass etc.

“He played really well against Liverpool before the break and since that point we’ve not got to the level we want. He’s not far away, we’ve told him and we speak with him, he’s a really good boy and reliable for us but it is just the way we see it at the moment.”
