Fornals: “Massive few weeks for players, their families and fans”

By Hughie Southon

Pablo Fornals appears certain to play his part in the second leg match against Larnaca at the London Stadium this evening as the Hammers look to progress into the last eight of the Conference.

The Spaniard was pretty much a regular for a long while but has found himself on the bench pretty regularly over recent games finding himself no automatic choice following the arrive of Lucas Paqueta.

Fornals enjoyed his best game in claret and blue

But he has been offering his view of things and tonight’s match in particular to the Last Word column on the official website having joined David Moyes at the pre-match presser on Wednesday

And he explains that he is ready to play his part in helping us reach the quarter-finals as he considers it crucial we stay in the competition.

We are still unbeaten in Europe this year, so we just want to keep the momentum going and hope and pray that the confidence and winning run rubs off onto the last games of the Premier League season.

Commenting, Pablo said: “I don’t see these games as a distraction from the Premier League. Instead, it’s a chance to win games and to give players in the squad opportunities. It means that everyone is in shape and ready to be sharp when needed for what is a busy few months ahead.
We all know it is is going to be a massive few weeks for the Club. For me, the lads, our families as well. We are trying to be together, and give the crowds good moments, because they will be a big part of any success we have.

At the beginning of the season, I did not think we would be in this position in the league, but we will try to be as positive as possible to change that. Progress in Europe can help that.
