Moving at a snails pace seems the modern West Ham Way. Whilst Brentford moved -relatively speaking – at the speed of light to capture Liverpool’s second ‘keeper and long-time West Ham target Caoimhin Kelleher for ‘just’ £12.5 million way back in the first weeks of the window, the Irons grind their way forwards with just three weeks of pre-season left.

Popular Leicester fan site filbertway.com appears resigned to the inevitable in their article “ Leicester’s Goalkeeper shuffle” – which is sub-headed

‘Begovic confirmed to Leicester, Hermansen soon confirmed to West Ham”. However, Leicester fans aren’t quite up to speed with the way in which West Ham do things: All is not quite yet lost as far as their Danish shot stopper is concerned.

Even according to Leicester fans,  Mads Hermansen is inching closer to a move

As the Foxes fan site report continues:

“We believe that Mads Hermansen is very close to agreeing something elsewhere, belived to be West Ham…Sad to see Mads Hermansen leave”

The Hammers may have the need – magnified after another shaky game from Areola at the weekend – and they may be in prime position now that Newcastle switched goal keeping targets for Howe’s old keeper Ramsdale- but that doesn’t mean that it’ll be done and dusted by the weekend.

Wheras the Foxes are seeking a £35 million transfer fee, the Hammers have ideas nearer £20 million. And we know what that means. However much there’s confirmation of serious intent from around the mainstream sites today, There’s still plenty of scope for a cock-up.

As seasoned Hammers fans know, there’s no such thing as a done deal until the player is photographed in the shirt. Even if he does the ‘crossed Hammers’ on instagram. ( don’t do it Mads, until the ink is dry on the Irons’ contract).

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

All I can say a brilliant signing for us If we can get it over the line

There’s several players that could go the other way! Probably not good enough for Leicester though.
