Frankfurt duo set to miss Hammers clash

|

Eintracht Frankfurt duo Jesper Lindstrom and Martin Hinteregger could miss this week’s Europa League semi final second leg against West Ham.

Speaking to the UEFA website ahead of the second leg, Steffen Potter, a reporter who covers the German club, has confirmed that the pair are both facing a race against time to be fit.

Both players played in Frankfurt’s 2-1 win at the London Stadium, with Hinteregger starring in defence and Lindstrom playing in attacking midfield.

Hinteregger is more likely to be fit for the game than Lindstrom but it remains to be seen if he will make it, with Potter claiming that Almamy Toure could replace him in the second leg.

Frankfurt prepared for the game by playing Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Monday and resting a number of players in the 2-0 defeat.

The Irons, by comparison, lost to Arsenal on Sunday and will be hoping to produce a better performance on Thursday.
