Frankfurt warm up for Hammers by dropping points

|

Eintracht Frankfurt have warmed up for their Europa League semi-final clash with West Ham by dropping points in a Bundesliga draw with Hoffenheim.

Frankfurt come to London on Thursday for the biggest game in a generation, as the Irons look to build an advantage ahead of the second leg in Germany.

The Irons’ opponents shocked the world in the last round when they knocked out Barcelona, winning 3-2 at Camp Nou.

But they have been in much poorer form domestically.

They currently sit ninth in the Bundesliga and have not won either of their last two games.

Fresh from winning in Spain, they were beaten 2-0 by Union Berlin and their most recent outing ended in a 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim.

Playing at home, Frankfurt fell behind thanks to an Evan Ndicka own goal, before the same player levelled it up with a goal at the correct end. Daichi Kamada then gave them a 2-1 lead but they were unable to see the game out, conceding a Georginio Rutter equaliser in the 78th minute.

There is nothing for the Hammers to fear here!
