Fredericks is miles ahead

Ryan Fredericks has been very much on the sidelines until recently at the club.

His summer move from Fulham looked for a long time as though it was not going to work with fans favourite Pablo Zabaleta surprisingly perhaps holding the right back position for most of the season.

With rumours of retirement surrounding the Argentine it was important that Fredericks was given the opportunity of showing what he can do but then as he appeared to be getting his chance injury intervened

However, he was recalled for the match at Manchester City where he did very well and was again in good form against Chelsea on Monday night.

Now it seems that the fans are warming to him in a very big way as he finished miles ahead of Zaba in a Claretandhugh poll to find who should be our regular right back next season.

In a poll conducted by Claretandhugh he collected 1015 votes (91 per cent of the poll) against Zaba’s 99 (8.89 pc).
