Fredericks update

Ryan Fredericks received a minor knock in this afternoon’s game against Manchester United but looks set to be fit for the weekend game at Bournemouth.

The right back came off with ten minutes left making way for Pablo Zabaleta and was described this evening as having “suffered something minor by way of a knock” by a club insider on e mail to CandH.

However, the initial reaction is that was that he would recover in good time for the next PL game although he’s unikely to be involved in the Carabao Cup match against Oxford on Wednesday evening.

That job is likely to go to Zaba and there is no chance of a call-up for Ben Johnson who is recovering from his own an injury problem after missing the last two Under 23s games.

As reported earlier today Manu Lanzini could be out for a month after playing through the pain barrier at Villa last Monday evening after taking a kick while on international duty with Argentina.

However, he may miss only the Bournemouth and  Palace matches given the intervening international break in October.
