Free agent signing is unlikely

According to a report TeamTALK, Serbia international defensive midfielder Nemanja Radoja is keen on a move to England after missing all of last season due to injury with West Ham, Leeds and Brighton all claimed to be interested.

The 26-year-old is now a free agent after being released by Celta Vigo, where he featured 146 times following his €1m move from hometown club FK Vojvodina in 2014. Radoja has a EU passport after spending five years in Spain.
However, West Ham have no squad positions available having filled and submitted their list for all 17 non-home-grown players for this season. With the current squad full the Hammers are restricted to signing free agents who are homegrown players as they have two positions available or under 21’s which are unlimited so as this guy is 26 and non-homegrown this report doesn’t stack up.
Pellegrini has stated Carlos Sanchez will play an important role this season as the sole backup to Delcan Rice.

  1. Kinda guessed this news Sean, after the post of West Ham sticking with who they’ve got with there 17 foreign players. So there sticking with Sanchez to cover Rice? Good luck with that one ? On ‘Read west ham ‘ they did a poll and 77% thought Radoja was worth talking a punt on , he’s 6ft 3in tall, much younger than Sanchez at 26 to Sanchez being 34, so it has to be in Mr Pellegrini we trust. 2. Like Nasri last year, probably months away from match fitness anyway, and being youngish and 6ft 3in surely can’t be the only requirements. Desperate straw clutching from some of our fan base, but understandable given what we have
