West Ham will take a look at Olympiakos left-back Arthur Masuaku as they look to bring in cover for the injured Aaron Cresswell, sources close to the club have told ESPN.
The Hammers thought they had landed a replacement after agreeing a deal to sign Inter Milan defender Davide Santon on loan, but the move fell through after the former Newcastle man failed a medical. Bids for Norwich defenders Robbie Brady and Marton Olsson also failed.
Reports from Greece claim Masuaku boarded a morning flight to London with his agent Panagiotis Galarioti. The report in www.gazzetta.gr claims West Ham have bid 10 million euros and he will face a medical this weekend.
Masuaku has impressed since joining Olympiakos from Valenciennes two seasons ago. The 22-year-old helped them win the Greek title in the last two seasons and has played in the Champions League. Olympiakos face a battle to keep hold of their left back and West Ham are said to be ready to test their resolve with a £6 million bid.
It could be a different looking team by the Chelski Bumhunters game.No Lanzini,No Cresswell, seemingly Dimi could be missing.Interesting choices for Slav to make 😉
We need something there for chelsea that’s for sure ?
Antonio is no full back ,
Don’t know him but has a lot of Euro experience and plays for a club that plays good football,
Seems like a lot of money when we would not part with £5 million for a International with PL experience and played in our football for many years,
But Slav or someone must have done there homework,
We need a proper Left back for Chelski because we need Byram on the right to face Hazard
Sorry but if we play Antonio there we will be slaughtered even if Oxford is there to cover him,
