Fresh doubts over Antonio

Social media is awash with rumours today that Michail Antonio is struggling with match fitness this week and is unlikely to start against Manchester United on Saturday evening.

Twitter rumours suggest he has struggled to properly regain his match fitness while another report suggests he has aggravated his hamstring again in training.

Many supporters were surprised when David Moyes started him against Aston Villa on Monday and he certainly seemed to lack sharp match fitness and some of his runs looked more reserved as he looked to protect his hamstrings.

ITK ExWHUemployee also admitted that Antonio was unlikely to start this weekend when he spoke on his West Ham Way podcast this week.

Moyes will have the option whether to make a like for like swap for Haller or try to incorporate Haller and Benrahmi in the starting XI by dropping Arthur Masuaku as he did in the second half against Villa.

The club is being tight-lipped on team news but we shouldn’t have too long to wait to find out about Michail Antonio as the gaffer is due to give his pre-match press conference at 1.30 pm on Friday afternoon.
