Another good news story to warm the cockles has been rubber stamped with the return of a player who’s heart is firmly claret & blue.
We all knew it was coming but now Luis Brown has now officially inked a professional deal with West Ham United.
The young defender, son of Kenny Brown, the club’s Academy Manager and former defender, and grandson of Ken Brown Sr, West Ham’s most senior living former player, carries a significant legacy within the club. An England youth international, Luis is eager to continue the prestigious family tradition at West Ham.
Luis donned the Claret and Blue in his early years before a decade-long tenure at Arsenal. His return to East London represents a homecoming to a place he believes he was always meant to be.
“I’m over the moon to sign,” the 18-year-old expressed. “West Ham has been a part of my life since I can remember, and it’s thrilling to walk the same path as my father and grandfather.
“Until U9s, you can play for multiple academy teams, and I did have a stint with West Ham before joining Arsenal. It truly feels like destiny, and I’m eager to push forward now.
“My journey at Arsenal was invaluable, and I learned from some exceptional coaches, but I’m prepared for this new chapter. West Ham is where I belong, and having friends here already makes it even more special.”
Luis, who can play both centrally and as a left-back, has captained Arsenal’s U18 team and debuted in the Premier League 2 last season against Southampton.
After a brief period with the Irons in the latter part of the 2023/24 season, making seven appearances for the U18 Premier League team under Kevin Keen, Luis is now focused on impressing U21 lead coach Mark Robson.
Congratulations Luis, great news for the player and clearly a very proud Brown family.
Hope he’s ready for the first team soon. We’ll definitely need some youngsters to blood in over the next few years at that position. I’ll relish twisting the knife into Arsenal if he’s a stud for us. Great news all around.
Good luck with furthering your career with Mark Robson. How the hell did he get this job back?
Another crazy decision. Hopefully he’ll screw it up like last time and finally get kicked out of our club for good.
Is this kid any good or just getting a lucky move to us cos of his old man?
A family club like West Ham relishes such moments. Three generations of the Brown family wearing Claret and Blue is ‘Roy of the Rovers’ stuff.
Well done son! Do it for your grandad, your dad, and above all, yourself. All the best.
Ok Luis! If you’re half as good as your grandfather, who I watched many times you’ll do for me boy!
