Fulham aim to hijack Hammers deal

Fulham boss Marco Silva is keen to hijack West Ham talks with Alphonse Areola.

We reported per the Daily Mail that Newcastle were looking to do the same but we have learned since that his former loan club The Cottagers are keen to take him back to Craven Cottage.

However, it is far more likely that the Hammers will complete a deal with the Paris St Germain stopper who is favoured by Moyes as the likely No 1 next season.

Arelola wants assurances on that front but it’s his wages that present the biggest problem and the Hammers are currently attempting to negotiate them down from a reported £125k a week.

It’s very unlikely that Fulham can get close to those numbers although a London Stadium source revealed that they were interested in signing the player following their promotion.

He revealed that the Irons were aware of reports claiming a Newcastle interest and and added: “Fulham are busy in it as well.”
