Fulham still chasing Hammer

|

Fulham are continuing to chase a deal for West Ham defender Issa Diop.

The Standard reports that the west London club have made a bid for the centre-back, while also tabling offers for three other central defenders.

It speaks to their desire to bolster their defence ahead of the start of the new Premier League season this weekend.

But the Hammers remain reluctant to let Diop leave after Nayef Aguerd was ruled out for a significant period of time after sustaining an ankle injury against Rangers in pre-season.

The Cottagers were promoted from the Championship as champions and are aiming to beef up their squad ahead of the first game against Liverpool this weekend.

But the Irons are firm in their resolve to keep Diop at this stage, meaning that boss David Moyes still has four centre-backs to choose from despite Aguerd’s setback.

It remains to be seen if a new bid will be tabled, however.

If the money is right we should sell, there is no point having an unhappy player in the camp, am sure we can get another up and coming defender through the door, if Moyes knows one thing it’s central defenders.

Mind you judging by our recruitment recently probably shouldn’t be so optimistic

Isn’t Baptiste ready to take that 5th CB spot? Save some £. Surely better than buying someone else’s young CB…?
