Gale lays into Balbuena

Tony Gale has laid into Fabian Balbuena’s part in Jamie Vsrdy’s first equaliser against the Irons yesterday.

The former Hammers defender was on commentary duty for a regular Saturday overseas channel and had no hesitation in attacking the Paraguayan as the Foxes striker nipped in front of him to score.

Commenting in commentary and on Goals on Sunday [Sky Sports Main Event, 11:36am]. he declared: “Sluggish from Balbuena, poor defending. “You’re in that space, you should be cutting it out.

“But what a finish [by Vardy]. Good cross, great touch because he’s gone beyond the near post, that’s difficult to steer on target. He does it really well.”
