Former West Ham United manager David Moyes faces a tricky dilemma after being named one of the favourites for the Leicester City managerial job.

Steve Cooper was sacked by the Foxes at the weekend, and Moyes is second favourite with the bookmakers to take the position, behind Graham Potter.

Despite what many believe, the Scotsman will likely be eager to get back to work. Leicester City are not in the relegation zone and stand a solid chance of remaining in the Premier League under the right leadership.

Ordinarily, the former West Ham boss might jump at such an opportunity, but there’s a suspicion he could be holding out for the Everton job.

The Toffees travel to Old Trafford on Sunday for a crucial clash that may determine Sean Dyche’s future. Should Dyche win, it’s likely he will stay in the Goodison Park dugout until at least the New Year. However, if he loses, he could face the sack, whilst a draw might grant him a reprieve until Everton’s next match against Wolves.

For Moyes, the situation resembles a spin of the roulette wheel. He might prefer to wait for the fallout of the upcoming round of fixtures. Unfortunately for him, Leicester are unlikely to grant him that much time to decide. They would understandably move on to another candidate if the former Hammers manager hesitates.

Moyes will be acutely aware that accepting the Leicester role could mean watching the Everton position open up within days. Conversely, if Everton manage a result against Manchester United and remain above the relegation zone, Moyes could find himself out of work entirely.

It’s a nice problem to have but undoubtedly a tricky decision for Moyesie.

Dithering Dave , hesitate over a decision …. Guarans .

Hmm yes tricky decision. Get relegated with Liecester or relegated with Everton.

Apart from recruitment, DM had a problem with player retention. With Dawson he could have made an attempt to keep him happy in that Dawson’s issue was his family remained in the Midlands. Dawson could have been allowed some days off training & on the days he did train he could have been helicoptered down. Its a lot cheaper than getting in a replacement for him.

Potter is a better fit for Leicester. Moyes skill set perfect for Everton’s current predicament of having to do everything on a shoestring.

I don’t think Everton are crazy enough to go for Moyes even though they did appoint Lampard 🤦‍♂️

Poor and non recruitment under Moyes remains to be a problem to us now.

I read a while back that the Everton fans didn’t want him back ,I believe they were the group that nick named him dithering Dave.

I can’t see Leicester going for him. I can see Everton doing so.
As long as he doesn’t come back to us I don’t really care.

Not really an upgrade on Dyche tho 🤷‍♂️ Like for like IMO and they will probably wait until end of the season and then get a progressive coach.

Branthwaite will generate some funds for their new manager and new stadium.

that’s assuming either club wants him.

pundits can gnosh him off all they like, but anyone with money invested will see the devil in the detail of the last couple of WHU seasons and see that we were poorly coached club, bailed out only by a few massive talents.
