German club bids £10m for West Ham defender

_99392235_oxford_gettyBorussia Monchengladbach made a £10million bid today for West Ham defender Reece Oxford according to top fresh tabloid reports this morning.

The article claims the German club are determined to sign the 19-year-old on a permanent deal after the Hammers cut short his loan spell after activating a loan release clause when he failed to play a third of the available games.

Monchengladbach wants the centre-back on a permanent deal and are waiting to find out whether West Ham will accept their opening bid.

Despite reports the teenager wants to return to Germany, club insiders suggest he just wants his chance to impress David Moyes to break through to the Hammers first team and become a  Premier League regular.  Moyes is said to be open-minded about Oxford and in no hurry to make a quick decision on his future but is eager to watch him train and play.

A senior source previously told Claret and Hugh that Oxford would remain a West Ham player unless the club received an offer that was too good to turn down.

  1. I would not call 10 million too good to turn down on current prem rates we would have to pay 25million for a half decent CH so they should tell the Germans to come back when they can offer 30 Million or more, if they do sell Oxford it will be a very bad mistake if the lad is good enough to pay first team football in Germany then he is definitely good enough for our current first team plus he is young, not like most of the players, so he will be a lot quicker. pace is what the team is Crying out for. so over to you Moyes prove your managerial. credentals & give the lad a few games & invest some time in coaching him to get him up to your requirements. I think he should also get Buke & Cullen back to run the rule over them
Before we rush into buying more overpriced average players in the hope they will get us out of trouble

  2. Well said claret. Was gonna say myself if they triple the offer Id still like to see some resillience from the board to hold onto one of our biggest assets. If we can keep him rice and burke then we should have no worries for the forseeable future if they keep performing to their best.

  3. BM obviously see something in him and if we sell for 10 mill they will be laughing their heads off.
Let moyes have a good look at him before we doing anything rash.

  4. The future is all there if nurtured correctly. Trott, Burke Oxford Rice Samuelson Haksabanovic Martinez Quina Cullen Holland are all outstanding young players.

  5. I don’t think for a minute that we will sell him; as long as he doesn’t ask to leave.

  6. If BMG offer £10m they really want him they don’t spend a lot of money but always do well generally top 6 club.
With that said I feel bad for Ox might of been better to leave him for rest of loan bc was establishing himself & could use the experience.
So if Moyes doesn’t use him in first team will be a waste.
Being that Moyes still shys away from Rice I’m not overly hopeful he seems to like Kouyate in mid tho he cant pass & isn’t disciplined enough to stay in position.

Sulky came out & said he would have to be a huge offer they couldn’t refuse hope thats not £10m. Be worth triple that in a year probably.

And w Moyes having final say on transfers I hope that doesn’t include our youth bc he might decide he doesn’t want to stay here even if we finish well & is offered. Already said he wouldn’t talk contract till end of season. So he will have strong negotiations.
But so far his recruitment worries me
