Danny Ings’ future at West Ham United hangs in the balance as the transfer window draws to a close. The striker has struggled for playing time and is facing the prospect of leaving the club.

Ings’ decision to reject offers from Southampton and other clubs is a puzzling one. Given his limited opportunities at West Ham, a move to a different club seems like a logical step.

Leeds are reportedly keen to sign Ings by Friday according to a report from talkSPORT journalist Darren Whitcoop. That story was quickly followed by news that Ings former club Burnley were interested in signing their former player, therefore he does have plenty of options.

Leeds United’s interest in Ings could be a lifeline for the striker. A move to the Championship could provide him with a chance to revive his career and secure regular playing time.

However, Ings must be realistic about his situation at West Ham. The club is clearly looking to move him on, and his chances of breaking into the first team are slim.

It’s time for Ings to prioritise his career and make a decision that will benefit him in the long run. A move to Leeds United could be the fresh start he needs to reignite his career.

Have you spoken to Danny Ings? If he’s actually told you this then fair enough. If he hasn’t you are either repeating what sites peddle for clicks, like this one, or the ‘trusted source’ at the club is channeling information nobody has a right to know apart from Ings, the club and his agent.

Not his fault at all that he was persuaded to come to West Ham for a wage we believe is very high (according to ‘trusted sources’) and ever since the club have wasted his talents, or he might not give his best in training. Who knows?

Every time he was played and had a good game, he was dropped the next by Moyes. All he has left is personal pride and to fight for a place in the team if that’s what he chooses to do.

If we buy players who the manager didn’t want, and on top of that give the player large wages (we are told), then the only people to blame are from inside the club, ie the muppet owner and his dame.

The only thing that’s baffling is why west ham signed/ offered the ridiculous contract he’s on in the first place.
    Don’t blame him one bit.

    • John simmonds says:

Fair play to Ings he didn’t ask to.come here..Sully signed him ,( allegedly ,) Moyes treated him like shirt. He’s has a contract. He’s seeing it out. Suck it up Sully. He’s enjoying spending your dough you want him out. Pay him.up. it’s quite simple

  • Stubbo says:

He’s clearly prioritising his future. Will no doubt wait for us to pay him off, and then negotiate a signing on fee somewhere as a free agent. Or he’ll go on loan for this season with the same approach

Bottom line, he’s at the income maximisation stage of his career, and he’s playing it cool.

  • Ian says:

He doesn’t HAVE to do anything at all regarding a move away. It’s the club’s fault that he’s earning so much (assuming the figures being mentioned are correct), not his. So if the club want him out, then they have to find a solution. Not the player.

  • LORD ROBERT VENOUR says:

It’s not baffling sit on his a–e getting £100,000+ he’s not stupid pay him off get rid

  • Barry says:

“However, Ings must be realistic about his situation at West Ham” Well he is, he’s picking up millions and isn’t having to play for it. It’s so weird many fans think all players just want to play football, Ings clearly prioritises money over playing.

    • Ingsy65 says:

Although I understand why you say that, it is not correct. All Danny wants to do is play football. So many false promises by management. He’s too trusting!

  • Sissons 64 says:

£120k a week who would leave a job like that to get booted about in the championship.

  • Johnjj says:

Ha ha get real? Are you for real? The only person who needs to get real is whoever wrote this. You’re asking him to give up 125k per week wheh his career is coming to an end and he has to factor earnings for the next 50 years. What a totally naive and stupid thing to say. Who are you to tell him what he should and shouldn’t.

  • Spama1 says:

I don’t blame the bloke one bit. He was signed as a proven tap-in merchant and asked to play the Antonio role – the one where you’re the only player in the opposing half and asked to run around in circles for 25/30 mins. Once again Moyes never played to the striker’s strength, or as a two up front. At best he’s probably got 2 more years left in him and can’t blame him for staying. He might well be content with being a squad player on that salary – it’s always assumed he needs to leave for playing time when he may be perfectly happy. As someone said above, if you want rid then pay him off. Do I think he’s the answer? no. The future ? no. Worth starting or playing? no, not really. But can’t blame him

  • Steve says:

At this stage of his career, would you take a paycut? I don’t blame him, unless we subsidise his wages

  • 60sSupporter says:

Has anyone considered that Ingsy might fit into the super new style team – maybe as a squad player.

    Might even play tonight.

  • Ray says:

Why do you assume he wants to “re-ignite his career”? Maybe he likes it at West Ham (who wouldn’t?) and maybe he sees a chance, however slim, of being involved with another success story. Maybe he wants to become involved with the Academy? From his perspective, the worst that can happen is that West Ham buy him out and he becomes a free agent, at best he has some fun being involved with a great club and adds to his retirement fund in the process.

    • Taffyhammer says:

Absolutely Ray. Well said. We should all wait and see what happens this season. I’m looking forward to it unfolding.
Danny doesn’t seem to be in any way similar to Dyer, Gabbidon, Wilshire, Reid and the rest of the ‘sick room permanents’. Can’t see him just giving up on the game he loves and sitting around counting money.
