As reported yesterday, West Ham are reportedly chasing a striker who will be very familiar to Hammers fansâand no, itâs not Youssef En-Nesyri.
According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, the Hammers have shown interest in a summer move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who is wanted by neither his loan club AC Milan nor his parent club Roma.
Abraham made the switch to Milan at the start of the season following a difficult, injury-hit spell with Roma. However, his return to Serie A form has been underwhelming, scoring just three goals in 28 league appearances.
Heâs fared slightly better in cup competitions, with seven goals in 15 matches across the Coppa Italia, Champions League, and Supercoppa Italiana. Despite this, Milan have no plans to extend his stay, meaning heâs set to return to Rome this summer.
Roma, meanwhile, are unlikely to retain Abraham on his ÂŁ93,000-per-week wages and are open to offers. Thatâs opened the door for West Ham, who have reportedly “come forward” for his services as they prepare for a major squad overhaul.
However, this move would do little to help Graham Potterâs plan to reduce the average age of the squadâespecially considering the striker is 7 years of age and has a lengthy injury record.
Groundhog Day? West Ham have been linked with Abraham before
The Hammers were linked with a move for Abraham last summer, with a top Irons source informing Claret & Hugh that the forward was “too injury-prone.”
Abraham is said to prefer a move to a âtop-tierâ Premier League club, though he hasnât ruled out a switch to the London Stadiumâwhich wonât exactly endear him to West Ham fans at this stage. His current form is average at best, and itâs unlikely Real Madrid or PSG will come calling any time soon.
With four years away from English football behind him, the striker is reportedly open to a Premier League returnâif the project and playing time are right. However, Abraham may find he has far fewer transfer options than he imagines.
The fact we are reported to be interested in this clown is the most worrying thingâŚ..
Another sick note we are attracted to them like bees to honey
Westham have only avoided a serious relegation battle by virtue of the bottom three clubs having the collective worst points total ever ( 59 points with 3 to play verses 66 ) . No quality players want to come to the sh1t show that is Westham top to bottom . No to Abraham anyway because he’s useless . So even useless players don’t want to sign .
Perfect for West Ham ageing doesnât score too often and injury prone oh I almost forgot fairy cheap whatâs not to like
