West Ham United are seemingly under a bit of pressure to sign a new striker this summer, with a number of names linked to the club in recent weeks.
One player who is nobody’s favourite but has caught the eye of the Hammers is Alexander Sorloth, who enjoyed a stellar campaign with Villarreal last season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions. However, it should be noted that the big striker has left it late in his career to became prolific having have some pretty barren seasons.
The Norwegian international is seen by some as a potential upgrade on the club’s current striking options, with the ageing Michail Antonio and Danny Ings struggling for form.
Sorloth’s impressive goal-scoring record and physical presence make him an attractive target for West Ham, who are under mounting pressure to sign a forward with interest in multiple players stalling.
However, the Hammers face competition from a number of clubs for the 28-year-old’s signature, with his performances last season attracting attention from across Europe.
West Ham are also considering other options, including Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Ivan Toney, but Sorloth is the latest striker to appear on our shopping list. It would appear that the Norwegian is a considerable way down that shopping list but sometimes 4th choice is better than no choice.
The Irons really have to to make a decision on their striker target in the coming weeks, otherwise we will start the season on the back foot.
This really is a joke, we must be the laughing stock, we are meant to be chasing 6/8 transfers, which looking at the squad we do need, the board blamed dithering Moyes, but it is so clear who the problem is & we can’t even sell all the rubbish we previously purchased to raise cash, do we never learn. To get quality you have to pay the price.
Not good enough for premiership
Cheap Sullivan and part time Brady happy
Totally uninspiring choice. Hopefully goes to Roma as it’s they who are bidding.
squad needs a focal point in attack for high press, high line, possession football, not a kid with speed and a shot
it comes down to the style of play and the strength in our attacking midfield who will bring in the goals for us, the key is to put someone ahead who can receive the ball and then link them up with a high rate of success
if bowen and kudus as taking strikes then we are scoring goals, so we need a striker who can facilitate that – even if that’s all they do
Please; Be a little serious in here.
WHU has been “linked” to 1-200 different players during the summer. Recycled junk from other non-serious websites.
Note: We have never been linked to the players we have actually bought.
Sørlot; A fairly ordinary player for us Norwegians. Please put the ball dead!
I am eventually quite fed up with this non-serious website.
Fast becoming yet another Scattergun window
only if you believe all the fake news
a big man up front with superior link up play is the only player who can beat antonio to a starting slot, don’t care how many articles i read about duran or how many self described ITKs say he was our number #1 target, i don’t believe it, he doesn’t improve our starting 11 because he can’t play with his back to goal or link up with other players at a high enough level, there is a reason why colombia played a 10m #9 all the way to the final of the copa america
when you have players that striker the ball so sweetly from the edge of the box like bowen and kudus you don’t need a scoring #9, in possession and in a high line you need a striker who performs with his back to goal who can find your lethal forwards in space on the edge of the box
a complete forward would be nice but it is not necessary
money would be better spent on a playmaker with vision to support paq if he gets injured or worse, personally i’d love to see soule, we plug our #9 hole with the right player for a very reasonable fee
Same old story with strikers who will be number 55
This guy is not new and has been mentioned before.
It now appears that Toney and Duran are above budget (max £20m).
Sorloth has a release clause of £32m but club will sell for less.
Roma have offered £21m.
At least this is close to whu budget and doable.
Yesterday it was reportedly that he was having a medical and ready for transfer.
If whu want him they need to pull their finger out.
Easier said than done.
