‘Ginge’ gets massive boost

|

TonyGale_3167231James Collins has been handed the ultimate compliment by former Irons defensive hero Tony Gale.

‘Galey ‘- 300 appearances in an Irons shirt between 1984-1994 -reckons ‘Ginge’ is, and should remain, the first choice partner for Winston Reid when everybody is fit.

Despite the arrival in summer of £8 million signing Angelo Ogbonna from Juventus, Tony believes Collins is the natural partner for Reidy.

He said: “With James Tomkins likely to remain at right back it’s Ginge for me. He’s been brilliant and I was thrilled for him when he got his new deal.

“Ogbonna is a decent defender but for me James is the man to partner Reidy at the back when everybody is fit. He’s been a brilliant servant for the club and has lots still to offer.”

Galey likes the set up at the back with James Tomkins at right back saying: “I like to see it solid down that side and JT has done really well in there.

“Carl Jenkinson has lost his confidence and I feel for him. Now it’s all about responding in the right way and I’m sure he will come through.”

That can change so quick Ginge will make a complete bulls up or get sent off he always does,
Ogbonna is getting better every game and him and Reid play well togeather,
Tomkins has proved he is the ideal cover player as he has covered all the positions this season and last year played well as a defensive midfielder,
Still think Ginge has only a few games left in him for the club with Burke and Henry to come back and with an abundance of defensive midfielders Kuyate might still be a good player to play at CB
