West Ham United’s new signing Niclas Füllkrug has admitted that he still needs time to adapt to the Premier League. The striker joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer but has struggled to find his form in England.

Füllkrug has emphasised the differences between the Bundesliga and the Premier League. He believes that the physicality and pace of the English game require a period of adjustment.

In an interview with the DFB, he said:

A move abroad is different than moving from Bremen to Dortmund,”

“I still need a little time to settle in. Like some of my teammates. (It’s) more physical and dynamic, but less tactical. It’s another dream, I’m comfortable.”

Füllkrug has yet to score for the Irons. However, he remains confident in his ability and believes that it is only a matter of time before he finds his rhythm and starts contributing goals.

We must remain patient with Niclas Füllkrug. Adapting to a new league takes time, and it is important to give him the opportunity to prove himself. Füllkrug can make more than a significant impact for the Hammers.

He’s only been here five minutes and has been playing in a side still finding its feet. I reckon he’ll go on to be a fan favourite.

He hasn’t started a league game yet. Calm down and give him some time.

Especially those who are apparently taking turns to write up this crap and call it a story.

Duran was always the better option, age , pace etc. Hope Fullfrug comes good but at nearly 32 how long have we got. Bet Villa having last laugh at Sullvan

It shouldn’t need spelling out that foreign players need time to adapt there has been decades of players taking a season to find their feet then kicking on next season, there are very few exceptions to that. It took Ronaldo more than a season at Utd and he is arguably the best player of all time.
