Goalkeeper Twist as West Ham Transfer Saga Takes Another Wild Turn

As if there hadn’t been enough twists and turns in the wonderful world of West Ham news today, another bolt from the blue has arrived from ExWHUEmployee.

I can only speak for myself when I say that I’d pretty much given up all hope of signing either Zion Suzuki or Mads Hermansen. After all, Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano were both pretty much reporting a done deal for Botafogo’s John Victor earlier today.

West Ham had agreed terms with the player and the club and it was ‘here we go’ time… or at least that’s what we were told.

However, within the last hour (and a bit), Ex and esteemed journalist Henry Winter have reported that a deal with Hermansen could be back on. Reports seem to suggest a deal with Leicester City is getting closer and personal terms have been agreed between player and club.

To be honest, it’s all become rather confusing—a bit of a magician’s three-card trick and just as hard to follow. However, if the reports do turn out to be true, then it would appear the bid for Victor was nothing but smoke and mirrors, with Hermansen hiding up Potter’s wizard’s sleeve all along.

Honestly, at this point I don’t have a scooby what’s happening, but we might have all been played like a fiddle and got our knickers in a twist over nothing at all.

DG would say, “Don’t go to bed”. In this instance you probably can, but don’t expect to wake up to the same story tomorrow. . . you’ll probably find we’ve signed Lukas Fabianski.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

I started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

I give West Ham opinions and interviews on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus. Former video and content creator for West Ham United back in the days of Upton Park. I was lucky enough to feature in the documentary broadcast on that final wonderful game at the Boleyn when Winston Reid broke Manchester United hearts.

I frequently feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

This shames our club. Another site called this a West Ham masterclass, I call it embarrassing and the reason why so many clubs don’t want to do business with the current regime and players are reluctant to join us.

We treat players as commodities rather than human beings. I didn’t want us to sign Victor, but how many players do we dangle the carrot of making it to the Premier League? They agree to sign and then get dumped almost immediately for another player. It’s only West Ham you hear these stories about and it tarnishes our reputation. We have zero professionalism with transfers, something Steiden tried to change and every day it becomes clearer he should not have been sacked.

Please could someone explain how we can get a work permit for John Victor. He has no international caps and is over 21 which I understood ruled him out, or have things changed in recent years?

  • Macephtopheles says:

£30m for a keeper who (albeit part of a relegated side) is experienced and well regarded in the PL, has player/team of the season awards and the possibility of signing excites fans… against £10m for one who (at 29) has only become an actual “number 1” last year and has had several injury niggles and outright injuries despite rarely playing is no contest to me.

That said, if Hermansen has agreed personal terms then looking to the headline where Leicester have also agreed terms then Sullivan decides to try switch it to a loan with obligation and having it called off. Probably more likely to be crying into my toast than raising a different type of toast to celebrate his signing…

Well, Gonzo, if we can’t get the Mad Hermansen then the Fab Lucasz Fabianski is just fine with me!

    Mr Potter waves his wand…
    oo’er missus…
    ..or should that be misses..?
    What a kerfuffle!

  • D says:

I did comment that Victor was just a red herring and we’d be signing Mads Hermanson earlier today but for some reason my comments weren’t posted.

  • Danielson79 says:

Does everyone think Victor is rubbish after watching 1 clip of a mistake?? How easily led 😂

He’s a good shot stopper from what I’ve seen but he parries a lot of shots rather than catching which is a bit worrying

  • Attwood says:

Potters wizards sleeve is something I don’t want to think about!

  • Jeeps says:

    Time to give up guessing.
Neymar / Messi / Ronaldo (fits age group) all on agenda.

  • Murdo Durrant says:

I’d be happy to see Lucaz Fabianski back at West Ham better keeper at 40 than Alphonse!

    • Josh says:

Could we be getting two new keepers with Areola going at the same time??? Hermansen as the No.1 and Victor as a geniune No.2

  • Mick bering says:

HOPEFULLY SOMEONES USING SOME COMMON SENCE HERMANSEN IS THE MAN THE BRAZILIAN MAY BE CHEAPER IN POUND NOTES BUT COSTLIER IN THE LONG RUN IF HES NOT UP TO IT
