David Gold has made it clear that Andy Carroll will be going nowhere this summer as newly appointed Newcastle boss Steve McLaren casts his eyes towards Upton Park.
Carroll has long been linked with a move back to Tyneside but the co chairman talking to ClaretandHugh said: “We are not allowing Andy to go anywhere.
“There have been a lot of suggestions that he would like a move ‘home’ but Andy is now very happy and settled in London. He will be here next season.”
McClaren – as reported by The Times – is apparently keen to hatch a loan deal which will see the Geordie striker return to St James’ Park for a season.
But Gold said: “He’s our record signing and the best is yet to come from him. It could be a very big season for him and us.”
