|

Gold arms up in airDavid Gold has told Elliot Lee to go and “build on a great start ” to his Hammers career after scoring on his senior debut in Andorra last night.

Te club’s co-owner said: “It was a great start and let me tell you scoring goals against any team is the toughest job in football. He did very well and we are all delighted for him.

“He did everything right and it’s now down to him to go on and show the  manager on a regular basis that he should be in his thoughts.”

Gold admitted he was pleased that Slaven Bilic made the trip to Andorra and got a close-up of the talent available at Academy level.

“It’s good for the young players to see the manager in the dug-out,” added Gold. “It’s a big encouragement for them and every one of them did a great job.”
