Gold: “City game will show how far we’ve come”

GoldandsullivanDavid Gold is raising the bar and believes the Hammers look a top eight club  minimum right now!

The co-chairman revealed in an exclusive interview with ClaretandHugh last night (Sun) that his aspirations are rising whilst insisting “nobody should get too carried away.”

Thrilled by the second half performance against Burnley, he added today: “We started off the season thinking in terms of top ten but it’s fair to say that the optimism is rising.

“We looked so professional at Burnley after they ran out of steam and really rubbed in our advantage. We look a very good side these days and i’m excited ahead of Manchester City because that will show us how far we have come.

“Of course our aspirations are on the rise and as things stand we look a top eight club at the moment. There will be times when we will suffer setbacks but everybody has reason to be very hopeful this season.

“I’ve said before we have the best squad I’ve seen here in our time and it’s showing – they are young and hungry. Exciting times but let’s not get too carried away.”

  1. Saturday we will see just how far Allardyce has come.I fully expect him to defend ,get shown up,possibly badly, and then blame everyone else. Then we will see how contract talks are going and what a genius he is.Expect Nolan to play too.
