Winston Reid looks set for tomorrow’s game against Everton despite David Gold claiming he “should be available for the Spurs game.”
Gold made the comment in response to a Twitter follower who was asking specifically about the Spurs clash but the on line conversation left an impression that the New Zealander may not be ready for tomorrow’s game.
The manager has already explained that he would be selecting the side today or tomorrow during his press conference yesterday and Gold’s response at first sight appeared to leave Reid’s position unclear.
But speaking to ClaretandHugh the co chairman said: “I was being asked about the Spurs match and I answered on that basis. Were, for example, Winston – if selected – to get injured then he may not be avaiable for the Tottenham game.”
And a training ground source revealed that the Kiwi had been in full training all week and was available for selection as things stood today but added: “It’s all down to the manager’s decision.”
Gold can comment on anything he like the same as you Kev it’s a free world,
But as I said yesterday he needs to read take a step back before he makes his reply,
Wonder if Reid is going to be fit for the last game of the season,
Answer
If he does not go to Turkey on holiday and gets stuck there or he does not try to be the first
Pro footballer in space he should be fit
Gold should not be commentating on player fitness or availability . It is the Managers job to comment ( if he so wishes to ) . He should stop building us up and giving clues to the rest of the league . Mouthing off about Europe don’t help either .
