David Gold has confirmed Manu Lanzini’s expected return to action for the clash with Stoke City at the weekend.
The co chairman declared himself “optimistic that Lanzini will be available for Stoke” adding: “As I understand the situation from the medical guys it’s very minor and he should be fine.”
That confirms the story from CandH last night (Sun) in which we claimed Lanzini would be back despite later national press reports putting the injury return at a fortnight.
Gold is delighted with the squad’s determination to shrug off it’s injury concerns as it goes in search of points telling CandH: “We really are having a difficult time but the manager and the squad are showing fantastic resilience.
“It’s great too that we don’t hear injuries used as excuses for dropped points – it’s all part of the games and you need to get the results regardless of the situation in the dressing room.
“Everybody played their part and it proved what we’ve been saying that this is a very good squad but we can do without any further injuries.”
Let’s hope he can return even if Slav leaves the team as it is,
He was brilliant the week before and his class is needed
To come away from Manchester with a point and a wonderful performance shows how strong our squad has become.. these injury’s would have crippled us in the past.
Well done Slaven & the Daves
