Gold has no Europe doubts!

gold_2446989bDavid Gold is certain that West Ham are ready for Europe.

Despite Liverpool sneaking ahead of us at the death in the Fair Play League, it still looks odds-on the Hammers getting the chance to compete via their second position.

And David Gold questioned on Twitter on whether he believed we are ready for such a test declared emphatically “I am!”

This followed his announcement on ClaretandHugh that he believed the club would Β take up the offer to play in the early stages of the Europa League should the opportunity present itself.

As we reported earlier all depends now on Liverpool staying in the PL top six which would see them qualify automatically qualify for a UEFA Europa league spot which would see us offered the FPL spot.

Should Arsenal win the FA Cup, a seventh place will also open up for Europa League after the rules changed this season to not award it to runners up of the FA Cup.

  1. Yeah, lets just do it.European nights in the last season at The Boleyn,i will sacrifice a few league positions for that.Bring it on!! πŸ˜‰

    • Even if the league positions meant relegation? I don’t think we have the squad for it need at least 4 or 5 players 2 MF LB RB another striker ooh and a Manager that could do it

  2. David Gold you can’t be serious? Allardyce is still the manager so perhaps you are.

  3. I said i would sacrifice a ‘few league positions’,since when did that equate to being relegated,we are 9th now,i dont think a few means 8 or 10 positions, lol, yeah bring it on for sure, lets enjoy the ride foe the last season.Positive thinking, dismiss the negative thoughts πŸ™‚

    • You say we’re 9th but it’s not a convincing 9th if we’d had 2 wins in 17 and been in Europe wed be much lower. Just saying I can’t see the e squad coping. I’d love European football but don’t feel we are ready for it with our current players. Of course if we sign 6 players and a decent manager I may change my mind #COYI

  4. Yeah,i want to see a few final european nights at The Boleyn ,but im a bit more of a romantic when it comes to football. Not everything for me is that extra one place up the league, that one extra million in the coffers.I want to see some europan clubs come to to us under the floodlights at The Boleyn, special nights. We aint going to be relegated because of it,im sure of that.Embrace the opportunity, dont be scared about it πŸ˜€

  5. I don’t know what’s the problem is we just act like the top teams and field weeker teams in the league cup and I am sure our new manager will rotate the team,
Unlike BFS were Nolan plays every game and Nene and Alfitano warm there seats,
It’s not like running back to back marathons,
Let’s be bold and brave and ask the people earning 30,40,50,thousand pounds or more a week to play a whole 180 mins in one week ( shock horror)

  6. come on, the thing is to have the balls… The European experience is a great opportunity, don’t worry, West Ham will not be relagated… lol For exemple here in Italy teams like Fiorentina or Torino are doing really well in Serie A and they have been successful in Europa League too. Fiorentina has eached the semi final. Fiorentina and Torino in my opinion are at the same level of West Ham. Fans will have the opportunity to socialize with foreign fans, I could meet you if Milan will come up against West Ham, they could become twinned teams, I’ll be Milan Ambassador and Conker West Ham Ambassador… I’d like a picture together, I would put it on my nightstand … lol

    WEST HAM FOR EUROPEAN NIGHTS

  7. *reached

  8. Same here Matte teams like Malaga,Bilbao,Lavante, great places to go to not expensive to fly to,
I don’t understand why people want to travel to Hartlepool,Yeovil or Preston for example in the league cup and pay the same as jumping on Easyjet and flying to anywhere in Europe
To follow our club and then watch us at home,
We could have a great run and make loads of money for the club build confidence in the team,so you start early just knock silly games against non league teams friendly which prove nothing,
I have never heard any thing so negative what would have happened if we finished in the top 6, dropped out of Europe because our fans were scared of us playing to many games,
Our these the same people shouting about how we were in 4th place.

  9. Nothing wrong with a bit of a scandinavian jolly up,bit of football, expensive beer, blonde blue eyed beauties in the bars.Lovely job. However im married so the last part i am banned from πŸ˜€

    • ahahahha…. you’re are wrong Stew… out of sight out of mind… lol πŸ˜‰

  10. Tiddy you don’t like the cold ?
Ray no problem leaning on the bar watching ?
    Matte your a bad boy
