David Gold is still being forced to fence off tweets from fans wanting the club to be taken over.
Despite the owners making it crystal clear over many months there’s no chance of them selling up, fans are still baiting the co chairman to do so.
The recent improved form isn’t sufficient for many who are calling for key signings in the January transfer window and Gold has again made his feeling clear on any future saying.
One follower, Frank Darby @ryanfrankbrad , : “We’‘ll be relegated if we don’t go out and purchase a decent striker and RB. No freebies, loans or unknown South Americans.
And another added, claiming to speak for 90 per cent of the fans: “There’s another option of being taken over by rich Arabs. 90% of the fans want it to happen.”
Gold, however, quickly responded: “100% of the fans want to win the lottery and they all know it’s extremely unlikely so in the mean time they get on with their lives. dg
And numerous fans hit back at the ‘Arabs ‘ jibe with one saying: “Speak for yourself. Us fans each have our own voice. Who made you spokesperson?
Some fans are so unappreciative it sickens to the stomach . Sullivan & Gold saved this famous Club from obscurity . We all want West Ham to be massive and successful but , down the years previous management boards have sold us down the river by having a selling mentality . West Ham United could & should have been right up there with the big boys from the mid sixties onwards . We are playing a huge catch up game and thanks to Sullivan & Gold we are heading in the right direction . If changes are needed on and off the pitch , so be it , but we are definitely getting somewhere .
Just where that figure of 90% of fans comes from is pure fantasy and should be treated with the distain it deserves . We are not a huge , rich club . We are late developers trying to get ahead with what we’ve got .
