Gold: Nene may make bench for Spurs

David-GoldDavid Gold has confirmed that Nene is ready for action!

ClaretandHugh revealed early this  morning the Brazilian was suffering no fitness problems and could be involved in first team duty within a week.

And the co chairman has now tweeted confirmation declaring: “Nene is fit and ready to play. It’s possible he could be on the bench against Spurs on Sunday. dg”

Speaking to the official website earlier Nene said:”“It’s a really good challenge for me, to come to a competition like the Premier League. It’s the most competitive in the world so this is the motivation for me.

“The objective is to qualify for Europe. The club wants to do that and I want to help them arrive in that position.”

Now it remains to be seen if the manager is ready to plunge him straight into the action.

  1. Yes of course, he will sit on the bench against Spurs… but I think it will not be the only time… 😉

  2. Get the coaches to glue a subs bench to his ass during training, then he will get used to how it feels to be stuck to it for the next 10 weeks 😉

  3. Does this mean if Collins and Read or Tomkins get injured we get Nolan at centre half because Oxford,Henry and Boothe won’t start or make the bench now,
This Nene thing is the most interesting thing to happen so far this season, because it’s so stupid there has got to be more happening then anyone other than the 2 Daves to know,
Can it be a tax avoidance thing ?
Is it to prove to Jarvis he could play for a nother 8 years ( sitting on the bench )

  4. All he is doing is coming in to take Carrolls place in the squad Bubs.Simple as that.We are a striker down so he has come in.He is in for AC.Nothing more than that.It aint going to effect midfield or defence.Personally i have nothing against it,we only have cole if the top boys get injured.Yeah we have Lee but he isnt someone who is going to play that often. In defence we have the 3 central defenders + Henry,Burke,Oxford. Its all under control 🙂

  5. Rads that what the captain of the Titanic said, how does a midget winger with talent a good scoring record who is fit going to replace Carroll ?
Two weeks ago we had no central defenders do you think Reid is going to play every game and not be injured before he gets his new contract elsewhere?
Ginge with his full commitment will end up injured he always does,
All I was saying this is a waste of money even if he is a success he will join someone else at the end of the season garenteed .

  6. But he isnt a direct replacement for Carroll is he,they aint looking for him to jump aboutt like a lunatic. With Elliot Lee off to Luton then that only leaves Sakho,Cole & Valencia.Sakho has a dodgy back so it could leave us with two strikers. If we get two centrebacks out injured Kouyate will just move back there again. This guy coming isnt going to effect the youngsters playing time at all, because Samasaurus wont play them anyway even if we had 5 players out injured 😉

  7. Nene was free anyway,it aint like we have just spent 5 mill on him for 10 weeks football

  8. Rads would not mind his wages for the next 10 weeks if that’s free what do you think 50k a week ?

  9. He will be on nothing extreme i think Bubs.Even if he was on £50k a week for 10 weeks it is nothing in this age of tv rights.500k for 10weeks,small beer.Teams pay millions just to take a player on loan for a season these days.I bet he is probably only on about 20k a week.
I agree with Rads,we needed someone. If Sakho does have back trouble again or Valencia is injured with have just Cole left. What options does that leave us as far as striking subs are involved. The wise man sent Zarate out on loan so now we need to replace Carroll because the sophisticated man has left us short in the attacking department.
