Gold: ‘One of our greatest ever performances’

DGOLDDavid Gold believes the Hammers can cope well should Diafra Sakho be out for a longer than expected with a shoulder problem.
ClaretandHugh reported ;last night the player is believed to have suffered ligament damage after collarbone and shoulder breaks or dislocations were ruled out by hospital X-rays.

And despite scare reports in this morning’s nationals he could be out for a month hopes remain high he could be back for the Villa  game.

Gold said: “Obviously we want our goalscorer back as soon as possible but we can cope. We have Mauro Zarate available and Andy Carroll on his way back.

“The difference between this season and last is immense and shows how excellent our recruitment policy has been this summer.”

Gold was thrilled with the performance against Manchester City declaring it to be one of the best ever.

He said: “These are great times but let’s just keep going and keep our feet on the ground and keep going but yes, it must go down as one of our best performances and this squad can get even better.”
