Gold reveals good news

Pedro scored his first ever Hammers game

David Gold has revealed the Irons have an entirely fit squad for the trip to Burnley with two exceptions.

Only James Collins and Domnigos Quina have failed to recover from injury as the squad face a trip to the Premier League surprise packets.

So far the Clarets have beaten Chelsea away, and draw at White Hart Lane and Liverpool to maintain an early season top six challenge.

And in one of his regular Twitter updates the Hammers co-chairman has said: “Just heard from Gary Lewin that as of today everyone is available for selection with the exception of James Collins and Domingos Quina. “

So as we declared earlier the pressure is on the manager like never before to send it his strongest team for the first time this season and it will be fascinating to discover what he believes that to be.

Given his reluctance to start returning players from the start we don’t expect to see Pedro Obiang in the lineup.  We would like to see him partner Cheik Kouyate  in front of a back four comprising Zabaleta, Reid, Rice and Masuaku and behind Antonio, Lanzini and Arnautovic with Hernandez or Sakho up front.

Disagree Hugh. Bilic should be playing a twin spearhead of Hernandez and Sakho. This has the potential to be as lethal as Cottee and McAvennie. However, I’m not a Bilic fan. I think he is tactically inept (amongst other things), and there’s a cat in hells chance of him doing it.

Same here. But its not a full strength squad as Ginge is out and he’s one of the best pairings at the back.
Would prefer him to play a 3-5-2. Seems to make us more solid and play Cressy as one of that 3 at the back with Arthur as the WB in the 5. The 2 naturally link up well together.
Zab as the other WB. Lanzini, Antonio & Cheik in the middle (Obiang not starting this game). Chicho & Sakho up front.
Burnley not playing well at home this season for some reason so lets give ’em another headache and go and attack them.
