David Gold has revealed that Diafra Sakho is focused only on West Ham after reports emerged that the striker may still be hankering for a move.
Speculation in the media arose that the club had told him if he wanted a move then to earn it by his performances on the pitch once he is fit again.
But David Gold replying to a fan on his Twitter account that the one time bad boy is “focused on playing for West Ham” and that “things change quickly in football”.
And the co chairman told ClaretandHugh the player is now happier than he has been for a long time as he approaches the end of a recovery period after surgery.
He told us: “Diafra has been working so hard, joined the squad in Dubai and is as happy as I have seen him. He has been relating to people and is in a good place.
“There is no question of him moving on. He is at an important stage of his career at 27 years of age. He can become a top top player at this club and all his energies are centred on returning to the first team.”
Shame he was treated so badly in the first place . Yes he was stupid in what he said but when you have as good a record as he has for us and the owners are talking big money for replacements who are unproven and giving them 3 or 4 times more salary wouldn’t you be a little peeved !! ….and look what we got………… ZaZa ,Calleri , Ayew , Fletcher … not one of them with Sakho’s ability or track record . Just another chapter in the clueless transfer policy of our beloved owners …
You sound like you have insider knowledge. You seem to know that all transfers are the responsibility of our owners. Strange that the manager doesn’t have a say. Please share more.
Disagree Bubbles. You can’t defend Sakho as he’s behaved appallingly. I hope it’s now all behind him and I hope he gets 8 or so matches before the season is over for him to fall in love with the club again and for the fans to show their appreciation of him. If that happens we might get an awesome 3 years out of him.
Hi John … You say you disagree but I think it sounds like your assessment of the player is the same .
The clueless transfer policy that has given us Lanzini Payet Kouyate to name but a few. Also wasnt Sakho who is being talked so highly of a Sullivan punt more than Allardyce who didnt fancy signing him as much.Sorry bubbles but you cant have it both ways lol
and Calleri , Torre , Zaza, Nordveilt ? Massuku Alberola …. are we discussing Allardyce or Bilic or both …. It is gob ****e Sullivan and his brat that appear regularly on these postings not the manager .
Talking of gobsh1tes Bubbles do you ever stop moaning?!?!
