Gold’s cautious response on key players

|

payetSlaven Bilic’s comment that he hopes both Dimi Payet and Enner Valencia will be ready to play against Spurs after the international break means exactly that – he hopes.

Many on Twitter and elsewhere having heard him make the announcement following the game immediately assumed that the injuries were relatively minor and that the manager was giving a prediction.

That is not the case and at this stage nobody has a clue the extent of the damage caused to two of our key players.

David Gold has made the position clear on the social network this morning in answer to a follower who inquired for how long the French playmaker in particular could be out.

He explained: “It’s hard to say how long Dimitri will be out until after the scans on Monday but let’s hope he’s back for Spurs. dg”

Payet hobbled off shortly after half time following a tough tackle to be replaced by Valencia who himself left the action with injury towards the end.

Do we need a media department any longer? anyone who does not follow on twitter will no nothing these days about the club. It’s more worrying who we can use to back up Sakho, the sooner he is back the better, Carroll is a complete flop, just like last season when we started so well, until his return.

We can do without being like for like . Let’s not get into a Maureen frame of mind .
Everton & West Ham produced a good game and the result was basically fair .
It’s a man’s game and knocks are inevitable where challenges are hard .
We were a little unlucky yesterday , but then again so were Everton .
Just want to see a full fit squad to face Spurs . But a lone striker up front is not going to work against the Spurs defence . They have got The ” unplayable ” Carroll marked .
Time for Valencia . kouyate and Sakho .
