Gold’s great sadness

|

David-GoldDavid Gold has agreed that to place a stone in honour of Jack Howard at the London Stadium would be a really “nice idea.”

Twelve year old Jack – always unfailingly smiling in the most desperate of  circumstances – really put things into perspective as he staged his valiant but, finally, losing battle against cancer.

Football means very little by comparison and we at ClaretandHugh salute this young man really was the bravest of the brave .

And in a couple of Twitter messages the vice chairman responding to the suggestion of a stone being placed in the stadium declared: “That’s a nice idea. dg”

Earlier he had tweeted: “I am truly saddened to hear the news that brave young Hammer Jack Howard has lost his fight with cancer.

The thoughts of everyone associated with West Ham United are with Jack’s loved ones at this sad time. ”
