Gold’s pledge for FC Astra clash

|

davidgoldsummerThe Upton Park arrival of Romania’s Astra FC in the Europa League clash on Thursday evening looks to be the launch of the season proper for the Irons.

Until now new boss Slaven Bilic has been treating pre-season as he should and as can be expected -to get every players up to speed in terms of fitness.

Balancing the needs of all the players to get action whilst attempting to progress in a major competition is not an easy balancing act.

Throw into the mix the fact that he’s had little chance to get a close up look at the players over whom perhaps questions marks are hanging and the job gets even harder.

However, Thursday night looks to be a key pre-season moment when we when we are  see the best team available to him.

Co chairman David Gold has made it clear that things are set to get very serious indeed when the Romanians come to the east end.

A Twitter follower asked DG: “Can we be expected to have a stronger side in the EL on Thursday? We’ve signed all these good players but don’t play them.”

The co chairman’s response was unequivocal as he declared: “We will put out a strongest team possible against AC Astra on Thursday evening. dg.”

10 things that I hope for next season
    1. 6755601- to simply stop flapping his gums and making himself sound like a football guru.
    2. Floppysac – to stop appearing after a negative result or appearing at all.
    3. Ban all use of “Well we told you to be careful what you wished for”
    4. Ban all use of the Dudley Dunces Name
    5. Thinking AC will play a full season or rely on him
6.Jarvis, Nolan and Maiga never to be seen in a claret and blue shirt again.
7.C+H to remain stats free, formation free and not full of opinionated manager wannabes.
    8. To support Bilc and more importantly the club
    9. Drive any Scouser away from C+H with wit and banter.
    10. See the club we all support play with style and swagger again, playing with freedom with players in form, not picked on reputation, make the ground a cauldron for our last season…

Think the time for allowing fringe players to try and play there way into Slavs plans is all but over, at least as far as Europe is concerned. I still expect the likes of Jarvis Noble Zarate etc to be in or around the euro squad but don’t reckon Slav will make the same mistake of putting them all on the pitch at the same time.

Sakho is banned for the first leg. How many games does Payet have left? Tonks also banned.
still got the new boys to come in and play.
please no more Nolan, Magia. Not sure what was wrong with Noble last game but we don’t need that rubbish again.
