Gomez, Bacca, Ayew and Sakho update

|

ayewThe well connected Ken Dyer has updated the situation regarding Ayew, Bacca, Gomez and Sakho in his London Evening Standard column today.

Dyer writes: “West Ham await a response from Swansea to their £20 million bid for Andre Ayew, who is seen as a replacement for Diafra Sakho, a target for West Brom. A bid of £15m, rising by £5m with add-ons, has been lodged but the Welsh club want to sign a replacement before they let Ayew go.”

“West Brom have bid £10m, rising to £16m for Sakho which would be acceptable to West Ham, who signed the Senegal striker for £4.5m in August 2014.”

RR HighWest Ham’s search for a marquee striker signing, meanwhile, goes on. AC Milan’s Colombian star Carlos Bacca is their preferred choice but the player is keen on a move to Napoli. The door may be closing on that possibility though, as Napoli move to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter.

Ayew a replacement for Sakho, really sorry cannot see it. And Gomes is a big CF like AC so are we going back to the bad old days with two big immobile players up top. Our strategy stinks in my opinion – I just hope none of these links are true, if they are I will be going into the bookies and looking for odds to finish outside top 10. It is so disappointing what is happening, panic buying at its worse imo. Next we will be in for Benteke and Saido !!!! Get Brady for left side, get a top RB, get two mobile CF’s – think we are losing Sakho and Enner both mobile. Their pace is what made the difference. We have Carroll who has no pace. Do not replace them with players who have little or no pace. That’s all I am asking for. I watched Ayew last year, his workrate is average at best.

Yep we get it Johnham, you’ve been wounded with Sakho and Valencia (probably) out the door. It’s football and it’s business, get over it. Sakho and Enner have barely played together since the first half of SA’s last season, it was great but it’s over, time to move on. Carroll doesn’t throw a moody though, does he Johnham. Ayew is an upgrade on Sakho imo because he doesn’t get injured anywhere near as much. We all saw Ayew last season, most notably when he ripped us a new one in the 4-1 defeat at home, his work rate looked fine there.

Alan Smitty,ex Arsenal & England striker on Ayew last season…but what does he know

Talk about settling quickly. Ayew looks as if he has played in this league for years. Because not only is he excelling from a playing point of view, the Ghana international knows all the right tricks. Street wise in other words. He showed that here, drawing a foul right at the end when Luke Shaw gave him the mildest of shoves. It ate up precious seconds and robbed United’s momentum.
A fitting man of the match, Ayew’s versatility saw him start on the right, switch to the middle from where he found the net before returning to the flank. And boy can he run. More Seb Coe than Usain Bolt, his great stamina backs up an appetite for hard work.

Strange he thinks his work rate is great..but as I say..what does he know about forwards eh Mr.John.

Dont get how you could be sad to see ener leave. His hold up play is a joke, dreadful scoring record, touch is poor, unintelligent runs, no passing/dribbling ability finishing can be very eratic. He does have pace but he hasnt got a footballers brain to use it to his advantage. Id be delighted if we could get £10 million for him.

      • Antman says:

If we can get £10 million for him I would snap the other clubs hand off.I totally agree with you about him.He lacks any composure & is like a rabbit in the headlights most the time.So he has pace,so what, most the time he doesn’t even take the ball with him or makes p1ss poor runs.Imho I add lol

  • Antman says:

My god Johnham you are a depressing lol.You make me feel like I have a big dark cloud over my head lol

  • Eddie says:

I shouldn’t laugh but I loved his quote elsewhere from a fan today
“So far we are under-bidding on players that no club in the top 6 would even look at”
One can only assume they forgot Leicester & Southampton finished in the top 6,
I mean sorry but how many of these Foxes signings would WE want!!

    Summer 2016
    COMPLETED INS FROM FEE
Ben Hamer Bristol City Loan : Expired
    Luis Hernandez Sporting Gijon Free
    Nampalys Mendy Nice Undisclosed
    Ahmed Musa CSKA Moscow £15.0m
    Ron-Robert Zieler Hannover 96 £2.6m

    • Antman says:

There is a quick answer to that- none of them. The Saints have done no better. They have sold Wanyama,Pelle & Mane & only signed some kid from Bayern & Nathan Redmond lol

  • danielson79 says:

Forget Bacca, he doesnt want to wear our glorious colours. Anyone who thinks Ayew isnt an upgrade on Sakho…. look at their goals in the prem. Also a big bonus is the marseille connection. Him and Payet had a few good seasons together. I was gutted we missed out on him to swansea. Gomez for £7m is a good deal but would he be happy being 3rd striker?

  • Antman says:

Let Sakho go sink into a relegation battle with WBA.Once he is there he will realise what a total tw4t he has been lol

  • essexclarets says:

For whatever reason Sakho has spat his dummy out & wants out & Enner is not a PL player, he is just not strong enough & needs to go. Ayew would be a good buy but is he worth £20m? Not sure on that one, transfer fees this summer are crazy 12 months ago a player like this would be half that

    • Sams P45 says:

That’s true Essex but look a this window, its fecking crazy when someone like Jordan Ibe moves for 15 mill.I didnt know he had gone for such a stupid price until I read it on Sky.I remember in Jan he was being talked about as a 5 to 6 m signing for Derby.I think it was them. Its mental haha 🙂

  • canchaz says:

Well, it’s become very obvious we cannot get a top European striker because we can’t give them CL football and most are not prepared to take time to earn it, so players like Ahew and Gomez are the best we are going to get and if you look at both in that light, they are good signings. Gomez will be much more than a third striker, when measured against what we have at the moment and if we keep sitting on our hands, we might not get him.

  • Sams P45 says:

We still have our hands squeezing Baccas bolloxs it seems 😀
