Club releases photos from training to lift fans’ spirits ahead of Everton clash

This afternoon the club’s official social media channels dispatched their posts entitled ‘building up to face the Blues’: Not that I’ve ever heard ‘The Toffees’ described as ‘the Blues’ – maybe it was a slip -up inadvertently describing the mood music within the West Ham Camp.

Because there wasn’t a lot of joy being displayed in the training session.

However,  I scrolled down through the images I came across one terse looking image that actually lifted MY spirits. So I thought I’d share it with you.

Jarrod Bowen pictured by the club in training today.

Checked and double- checked – there is the ‘rumoured’ injured Jarrod Bowen pictured in training. Now it may be all an elaborate ruse as these are stills and of course, nobody is running around for the cameras. But our Captain is certainly in training. Which is a good, welcome sight indeed.

More Grim faces at training

The stern faces, grim expressions from everyone on display I don’t think is co-incidental. Make no bones about it, these are players who are under no illusions about the current predicament of their head coach.  Whether the media department want to show how seriously the players are taking their training – I don’t know but there is very little JOY at the training ground right now.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Everybody knows There’s no such thing as Gruffalo and EVERYBODY knows Everton are The Blue half of Liverpool , why they even wear Blue Shirts ..and Wayne Rooney describes himself as a BlueNose, but of course anyone who knew anything about Football would know that…wouldn’t they…

Another absolute load of old nonsense.

As someone married to an Everton supporter, I can confirm that “The Blues” is a regularly used nickname for them. Their “Bubbles” is “Spirit of The Blues.” They sing is multiple times each match.

If you don’t know it, don’t seek it out. It’s a damn earworm that gets stuck in your head….

No matter the result he has to be sacked he is clueless, continuously plays players out if position chops and changes the line up every single game has no man management skills and worst of all he doesn’t have the dressing room not even 1% if we don’t sack him now he will get us relegated.

I just looked at those training pictures and there are smiles on the faces of, in no particular order, Soucek, Paqueta, Summerville, Guilherme, AWB, Coufal, Fabianski… That’s almost 50% of the 16 pictures on offer. Stern faces and grim expressions of EVERYONE? Hmm…

I don’t know if you have ever been through a tough training session Martin, but in my experience, while I enjoyed the challenge, smiling and joking around was never top of the ”to do list”. It was more a case of looking for somewhere discreet to go puke up the last thing I ate.
“The Blues”, yep, that is from someone who was there but not there, probably a journalist.
While we all know Lopetegui is not exactly tuned in to his chosen environment, I doubt that applies to everyone else involved, so it is not really surprising to see the captain make an appearance, but I would be surprised if any of the players give a fish’s fart about Lopetegui’s self-inflicted predicament.
