Good news for Moyes as Lyon hit problems

West Ham have had good news ahead of the first leg game against Lyon in the Europa Cup quarter finals.

After the official site today confirmed our news of last night (Tues), that tickets are selling faster than at any in the club’s history came news of real problems in the Lyon squad per Hammers News.

The French outfit – currently struggling in mid table – have a couple of  injury issues and a suspension which will weaken them for the game at the London Stadium on April 7.

Lyon will be without two key players due to long-term injuries – talented attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki and central defender Sinaly Diomande (Transfermarkt) per Hammers News.

Meanwhile, right-back Leo Dubois will miss the game against West Ham through suspension (Transfermarkt).

Currently in 10th place and whilst there can be taking no opposition for granted,  the draw could have been a lot tougher on the Irons although the semi-final, should we reach it, looks likely to pitch us in against Barcelona.

The Catalan giants – having returned to their best against Real Madrid at the weekend with a 4-0 win – meet Eintracht Frankfurt in their quarter final.

The will be heavy favourites to beat the Bundesliga team and set up a game which – for all its difficulties – would be a dream Hammers clash and see tickets selling faster even than for the Lyon game.
