Good news on injury front ahead of crucial clash

Excluding long absentees, Winston Reid, Pedro Obiang and Sam Byram who have all been ruled out for the season David Moyes looks to have a full squad to choose from.

As revealed earlier, Andy Carroll is not due to be fit until 16th April at the earliest but previous injury doubts Cheik Kouyate and James Collins both trained today and should be available for selection for Saturday. Edimilson Fernandes has also returned from a long-term ankle injury and should be available for the game against the Saints.

The big test is, of course, Manuel Lanzini, the Argentine suffered a muscle strain while on International duty and didn’t train at Rush Green today but the medical teams have hopes he can still be fit by Saturday and he faces a late fitness test at the weekend. David Moyes will face the media tomorrow at Rush Green for the pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial match against the relegation contenders.
