NOT at all how he’d have envisioned it, no doubt attempting to buoy up his Sweden side with fine management- speak words of positivity, Graham Potter’s side were humbled last night in a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Switzerland, as the former Hammers manager saw his side crumble in 30 second-half minutes when his opponents netted three times.

At least he’s used to facing the press after the familiar goal avalanche.

Indeed the first goal in the rout was delivered by one-time Hammers striker target Breel Embolo who put Potter’s side on the back foot with a goal after just twelve minutes.

Familiar second-half cave in will be all to familiar to seasoned Graham Potter watchers

All of which will feel a little too familiar for comfort to West Ham United fan used to seeing a Potter side’s second half cave-in after starting passably. Switzerland scored three times in the second ’45 to seal the win in a carbon copy of West Ham’s capitulations under the 50 year old head coach.

This was a performance which included substitute Alexander Isak after an hour – but Potter might still be justified in claiming his was an injury-ravaged side, with Premier League players Gyokeres, Kulesevski, Bergavill and Lindelof  all still missing. Perhaps they knew what was coming.

Potter’s side are now destined for the play-offs in their attempts to qualify for next summer’s would cup tournament. The former West Ham manager only has a short-term contract agreed and will see his career as dependent upon guiding the Swedish national side through to the finals. Good luck with that!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

If Sweden are destined for the playoffs Potter has done an amazing job, they were rock bottom when he took over………… and still are.

Worse manager ever at West Ham !
First game in charge playing Summerville as a wing back said it all !!
