Green Day London Stadium decision imminent

Music band Green Day are expected to announce the long-awaited postponement of their London Stadium concert later this week

Last week the band send out an email cancelling the majority of their mainland European tour with the exception of the UK and Ireland

The sold-out concert towards the end of June remains on Green Day’s official website and the London Stadium website.

Major League Baseball have already cancelled their London Series at the London Stadium and today UK Athletics announced the cancellation of their Anniversary games in July.

There seems to be no way that concert promoters could stage an event with 80,000 fans in June and the delay of the announcement is thought to be related to contractual disputes over the hire of the venue.

With no other users of the stadium over the summer, owners LLDC are set to make £6m n savings but not moving the seats.

A spokesperson for London Stadium speaking exclusively to Claret and Hugh this morning said:

We continue to work with the event owner, to make any necessary arrangements due to Covid 19, and expect to update customers in the coming days.”
