Guest rating expert gives verdict

ClaretandHugh Facebook Group member Niall McDonald gives his verdict on how our players performed against Spurs in what was surely the match of the season!

Adrian: Only one save to make and made it magnificently 7
Antonio: Full-back. Winger. Striker. Goal-scorer. Match-winner 9
Cresswell: Seems far more comfortable in his more advanced role 7
Collins: Gave a masterclass in good old-fashioned centre-half play before going off with what appeared to be a hamstring injury 8
Ogbonna: Seems to become more imposing with every game 7
Kouyate: A surprise 3rd centre-back and had a tremendous game. Shadowed Kane who barely had a kick 8
Obiang: Really impressive. Lost count of how many moves he broke up 8
Noble: Seemed to have far more time and space in midfield tonight 8
Payet: Another game another assist 7
Lanzini: Disciplined performance, so quick in possession 6
Emenike: Far more involved tonight. Showed some nice touches in first half 6

Subs:
Oxford: Thrown in at the deep end and rose to the occasion. Put his foot through every clearance 7
Carroll: Ended up in an unexpected holding midfield role!! 5
Sakho: Sak is back!! 5

  1. Sh*t Niall,I’m glad you never marked my homework,I would have got E- for everything,ha ha.Bit skimpy on the marks my old son 🙂

  2. At least they should all get A for effort, but just shows the DIffrence between 2 hammer fans
    On one game
Could not give any player less then 7 today,
    The Fans get a 10
    The manager gets a 10
Bring on the cloggers and keep this run going, hope Ginge is ok,
Oxford proved again he is ready
    Obiang is building his reputation
Emineke is working hard to impress
What a great night for us all and revenge is sweet,4th place one point away, and the Spuds did not go top,

  3. Give Slav and co 10 for getting em up and running from the off.

  4. Wow! Wish I could have been there for that, incredible atmosphere, could feel it through the tv 7000 miles away!!! On a side note, my Hammer of the year……ugh, so difficult, but Kouyate is so often asked to do so much & always delivers, love this guy!!!

  5. I vote Kouyate every time but it is getting harder every game
Payet Antonio Ginge Kouyate Ogbonna Cresswell Obiang could all have got MOTM TODAY
    And hammer of the year,
Only 2000 miles away today but if was as if I was there the fans were unbelievable and have been all season,
Delia once asked for her fans to be that 12th man this season it has been 12 and 13 man
I congratulate all you fans from a plastic fan

  6. My magic ball didn’t work so well… but what a night! A true battle, all the players put their hart. 4 players deserve a special mention: Ogbonna (a rock, a Pillar of Hercules), Obiang (in my opinion he should play every week from the first minute along with Kouyate and Noble), Antonio (he has 7 lungs) and Kouyate (speed, class and vigour, one of the top three midfielders in PL).
Bilic is the charismatic commander of the ship, Payet is pure class and eye candy (my personal favourite player, much more than Ravel, lol ;-)), Emenike seems to be a good player (I’d keep him next year), Cresswell is a guarantee, Noble deserves his captain’s C on his jersey, Adrian is like Spiderman (in my opinion he should improve his coming out), Collins is the other Pillar of Hercules, Lanzini is a young great talent and we should buy him right now.
And now that we have Diafra back we are unstoppable.
28 games played, 46 points, 1 point less than last year’s final ranking, but 10 matches left to play…
Yeah, dear Sam lovers, you were so right, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR… ahahah 😉
