Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah look likely to be among those that boss Mikel Arteka will be looking to sell before deadline day following a new report.
The 22 year old has been linked with a possible move to the Hammers in the past and it will be interesting to see if David Moyes takes advantage of the possibility.
The striker scored six goals in 29 appearances for the Gunners last season and if the Hammers boss is looking for a traditional front man to compete with Mickey Antonio he may fit the bill.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal and technical director Edu will trim the squad and have therefore placed six first-team players up for sale.
Willian, Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lucas Torreira, Reiss Nelson and Sead Kolasinac are reportedly the players in question
Nketiah has also been linked with Crystal Palace, butb it seems the opportunity for a deal may arise with Arteta declaring: ” ‘There’s still 11 days to go and there’s still things to be done. There are still players in the squad where it’s going to be difficult for them to find game time.
“We’re gonna have I think seven players have left the club and five are coming in so it’s not more players coming in. We’re going to do it in the right way so that we are stable.’
Joe Willock to Newcastle for £22m was the only major departure, with David Luiz released and William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi joining Marseille and Konstantinos Mavropanos joining Stuttgart on loan deals.
Arsenal signed attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on Friday for £30m, while Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has carried out a medical and is set to complete a move for around the same fee in the near future.
I’d rather have Braithwaith and I don’t want him either, who ever makes up these stories and those that believe them are even worse. Mipo is a far better player than this guy. We are supposed to be signing players that will bring us to the next level and improve us. Another absolutely rubbish link and if Moyes thinks for one second signing players like this then he is on a slippery slope with the fans.
I like Nketiah and think he would do well with us. Coming off the bench with 20 – 30 mins left to play either alongside or in place of Antonio depending on how the game is going and then ready to take over from him in a few years time. Think also he fits Moyes bill of young and hungry. I also quite like Maitland Niles. Great versatility can play either full back or anywhere in midfield. Worth a punt on both imho.
