Half time: Hammers under the cosh

Half Time : Newcastle 2 West Ham 0

The Irons were at the receiving end of some brilliant midfield play by new Newcastle signing £12 million Jonjo Shelvey during a one sided first half.

The former Swansea player – signed for £12 million before the game – set up goals for Perez on five minutes and Wilnaldum (12) as the Hammers were put to the sword.

We could have been even further behind but some desperate defending denied Sissoko and Mitravic as the Irons staggered in for the interval.

However, there had been signs towards the end of the half that they may come alive when Koutaye smashed in a shot which was brilliantly saved at the end of a great move whilst Antonio turned a shot wide.

The Hammers though had been dominated by some quick moving Newcastle attacks which kept them on the back foot for virtually the entire first 45 minutes and when they did get forward Newcastle central defender Collocini showed tremendous class.

  1. Yep,we need to get the Wetpant experts to run the team. The visionary pant soakers.

  2. Lmao, they are bi polar aint they? We win a game we are going to qualify for the CL,we lose a game we are sh*t.Fickle aint the word to describe these Wetpants.

  3. That jelavic. What a player! Where did we get him from. He’s Brilliant.

  4. I heared he was recommended to Slaven by the Wetpants scouts 🙂

  5. Only player to come out of that game was Jelavic. Our MOTM by a mile.
    The rest looked completely uninterested.

Newcastle outplayed us in all departments. Could and should have been a much bigger win for them.

Cant win every game and this today should be a huge wake up call for our owners, they need to do everything they can to bring in a striker.

Very angry that their goalkeeper had next to nothing to do all game.

  6. Go over to Wetpants, they like to be very angry, lol, just take a clean pair of pants & a dummy to spit 😉

  7. Payet absent, we did not have direction. Whereas Shelvey, on the other team, was unmarked and gave the two goals and could have scored a couple himself.

  8. Oi calm down boys,we dont all wet our pants on there, hahaha. Some of us take it for what it is,one defeat. We dont have some divine right to win every match,**** happens.Move on to the next game.We have had a top season so far,one defeat today aint going to change that 😀

  9. ????

What are you talking about. I take it all the Wetpants stuff I see mentioned is about either the official site or KUMB?

Don’t post on Kumb and never will. ****e site full of propaganda bull****.

If you read my above post you will see I said “Cant win” every game. We cant.

This season has already been one of the best in many a year. We have every chance of a top 8 finish, and who knows where if we get in a decent striker.

Bilic is making mistakes, but very few. When he does make mistakes he seems to learn from them. Hoping he will be our manager for many a year to come.

Are fans not allowed to give their opinions on the game then unless everything posted is a positive?

Did you think we played well today, did you think we made their goalkeeper work enough?

    won. It happens.

  10. Edit for above post. Bottom line should have read….

Newcastle won, deserved to. It happens. 3 defeats in 12 away games is fantastic and something us Irons fans are not used to.

Fill if we had Sakho or Carroll starting, we would have seen a different result today. But those to are as we all know very injury prone. Which is why we have to get someone in now and make the most of this golden chance to finish top 6 or higher this season.

  11. He Plastic Coach how I got it so wrong,
I predicted a 0-4 win for us and wondered why we did not turn up at the start,
Simple they wanted it more then we did and the Ref would not give a pen at the end again,
Hope this is the slip up we has at the beginning of the season and next week we get back on form,
Over to you Sam and Wetpants,
Please Mr Lawerson go back to predicting defeats for us,

  12. What the effing F is “wetpants”. I must be the only one on here who does not mention it or know what the hell it is?

  13. Haha, nothing to say Bubs,we lost,it hapens.Aint going to throw my teddy out of my cot because of today.Onwards & upwards, bring on the next game mate 🙂

  14. Whats the chances of MOTD hihlighting Shelvey elbow on Valencia. should have been off but allowed to stay on and then ran the game
